This really is just going to be a compilation of my internal yap session so I will answer any questions or fill in any holes people may poke in it.

My initial idea that I've expanded on is entirely focusing on an actual in-game purpose to logistics factions, especially in the navy. It's one thing to handle a budget with document larp and have that be nothing other thans some words on a paper, but I think that a whole gameplay system can be made around the idea of supplying vendors and actually having in-game resources that are supplied. Budgets would have to be approved by the finance people in government and Logistics would handle the distribution. I know each faction has their own budget management system, and whatever they buy is up to them.

Its simple enough to get an "event" or something happening in game where supply crates are delivered to the hangar and naval logistics would have to distribute them to vendors. Think like:

  1. Lambda, piloted either by a pilot or an admin, lands in the hangar on a scheduled supply mission requested by logistics (or routine, like once every other day)
  2. admin/logistical member with approval spawns crates full of weapons which were pre-approved based on the budget of each requesting faction
  3. the correct amount of weapons and correct types are distributed to the correct areas
  4. putting the crate of weapons next to the vendors increases the amount that can be obtained from the vendor.

idk that seems simple to me I just think it would both create drama and actually increase interactivity in game and allow for more player-lead roleplay instead of civil war 24/7 everything is a shootout yk. like maybe i steal an e-11e from a crate and give it to the navy but the ISB notices they are down on their stockpile they ordered. The only thing we'd need is someone to pilot a lambda in and out. This can include things far more than weapons, like food supply, water, ammo, etc. Logistics would have to keep an eye on mess stock to keep people fed (idk if there's a system in place for hunger+thirst). Could also be an incentive to not just die haphazardly, since weapons aren't on an infinite supply. Would make shootouts more meaningful and costly!!!!

*I only say naval logistics in this case because its going to be on an ISD, so naval logistics would in theory be the ones handling the distribution. *

I'm more than willing to search for addons, and tbh I could make it in not that long of a time. It's really creating a value in a vendor and having it go up when the item is put near it.

TL;DR: Make an in-game supply system that would supply the resources for the factions and the ships instead of infinite vendors.

This is a high quality suggestion. Think it's vital that this server avoids become another one of those "Civil War RP" servers, and this is one way of adding to the experience of the server during those 'downtime' periods where not much is going on. Will be good to see the potential ways of implementing this, and ultimately I think the best way to implement it will become more clear once launch has happened and everyones got a clearer vision of where the server is heading.

Approved.

This was planned to be apart of the server originally, However the System we have planned is different to what was pitched here, regarding Hunger and Food.
